God's Poetry No words needed
One night I was in the kitchen working. My son was taking the trash outside. When he came back inside he said, “Mommy, I think that God’s beard is probably softer than a cloud, and his whiskers are made out of gold.” He said “ I think that if I laid my face next to God’s it would be so comfortable.” I said “Wow, that’s a beautiful way to think about it.” I asked him what made him think of it that way. He responded that the sunset reminded him of what he thought God’s beard may look and feel like. He invited me to come outside and see for myself. I went out and immediately came back in with my digital camera. I understood why he had made the connection. My Son told me that in addition to God’s beard he imagined that this is what Heaven has to look like because it was so beautiful. I think what struck me the most about his observation is that he is 13 years old and most boys this age are thinking about female teenage bodies, rather than heavenly bodies.
I usually take a lot of photos of the sunset from my house because they are always so beautiful. Some just take my breath away. That night the latter was the case.
